You’ve marvelled at stacked megamixes, tumbled down ambient rabbit holes, and witnessed several DJs exploring new, uncharted dimensions. A huge thanks to everyone who’s followed the evolution of Life In Arpeggio’s 15-Min Flash Mix series, and to all selectors who’ve taken the time to participate. After more than 30 episodes, we’re now busting out a special edition of our signature series, and we’re unveiling it at a very special event. Making its debut at The Last Mile on 4 March is Life In Arpeggio’s 15-Min Flash Mix (LIVE).

As the official media partner of The Last Mile – the massive farewell takeover for Golden Mile Complex – Life In Arpeggio will be kicking off the evening’s celebrations at Enclave, one of the event’s five participating venues. From 8pm to 10pm, we’ll be introducing our 15-Min Flash Mix (LIVE) segment featuring 15-Min Flash Mixes from four DJs, as well as spontaneous back-to-backs where the magic happens. The inaugural segment’s lineup primarily focuses on rising selectors who’ve been cutting their teeth in the scene in their own way, and this is their platform to show their stuff in front of a wider audience.

So who do we have on the lineup? 15-Min Flash Mix (LIVE) starts with Loyboy, a professional dancer who desires to communicate with your inner party animal through a burgeoning palette that spans bouncy acid, frisky disco and nostalgic guilty pleasures (venga-*cough*). He recently showcased his effervescent charisma at an open house pool party organised by Manifest and Wild Pearl. Following Loyboy, we have Japanese vinyl-digger and hardware enthusiast, Ash Sagara. Aside from underground venues in his hometown, the Tokyo-raised selector has also graced the decks of Offtrack. He boasts a worldly repertoire that includes house, jazz, soul and hip-hop, all inspired by his hunts in record shops around the globe.

The segment then continues with The Beat Usagi and toastybiskit (Credit: Courtesy of DJs)

Life In Arpeggio always pays attention to cultural magnets in the scene, and one entity that’s attracted our curiosity is The Glass Hut. Representing the creative greenhouse is co-founder, Dione Keh, who goes by the DJ alias of toastybiskit. Her atlas of sounds explores everything from cosmic psychedelic trance to lush organic house, and even speedy hi-tech that blows past the 200bpm mark. Her selections are as eclectic as the creative mavens she champions as Hut Boss. 15-Min Flash Mix (LIVE) then wraps up with producer-selector, The Beat Usagi (yes, this is the only time you’ll see self-promotion on this platform), whose portfolio includes Headquarters, Rumours Beach Club, Ke’lektiv and United We Stream Asia, in addition to opening spots for Paco Osuna and Radio Slave. Will you be hurled through hyperspace highways? Sauntering down tribal corridors? Or stuck in a labyrinth of computer chip textures? Time will tell. Anything goes.

What story will each DJ tell in 15 minutes? What conversations will be had during the b2bs? It’s history in the making folks, and we’d love to see all your lovely faces. Come check out the inaugural edition of 15-Min Flash Mix (LIVE) at The Last Mile.
