A rare but coveted breed in Singapore, electronic music festivals don’t surface in the scene as much as we’d like. But when they do arrive, they often try to make a huge statement – and here’s a new one from the global ambit of Palm Tree Crew. Headed by tropical house pioneer Kygo and his frequent collaborator Myles Shear, Palm Tree Crew is now planting roots for the first time in Asia, announcing their latest large-scale endeavour to hit our wanting festival circuit. On 18 April, Palm Tree Music Festival makes its Singapore debut with a heavy-duty DJ lineup that’s set to make a hefty first impression.
When it comes to impressions, the Palm Tree Music Festival sub-brand – an offshoot from Palm Tree’s portfolio that comprises global live events, hospitality and collaborations with lifestyle and fashion brands – has made their presence felt. With past destinations in Saint-Tropez, Aspen, Sardinia and O'ahu, these events are undeniably global. And with TEG Asia tied in as this festival’s official partner, it’s now adding Singapore to its list.

Now on to the essential deets – the lineup, pray tell. Headlining this inaugural gig is industry top dog, John Summit, known for his melodious take on tech-house which propelled him to fame in the 2020s. He returns to Singapore together with prog-house icon Alesso, whose anthems like “If I Lose Myself” and “Under Control” continue to relish airplay today. But aside from these big names, Palm Tree Music Festival has unveiled the debut Singapore performance of techno mainstay Layton Giordani, and another return performance from MaRLo. More names will soon be revealed, joining a roster that will perform against the backdrop of – not palm trees – but the Supertrees of Gardens by the Bay at The Meadow.
