MagikMonk & Chill Sessions Records Co-Launch A Seaside Kampung Edition Of ‘Cosmic City’

Envision the soothing lapping of waves and infinite sea vistas. Ambient sitars, healing sound baths, and surges of organic and psychedelic house carve out a sonic sanctuary befitting that sweet spot between electronic music and wellness. Weave that idyllic setting with a communal kampung spirit, and you have more than just a village, but a Cosmic City. A signature series presented by MagikMonk, together with Chill Sessions Records, this Cosmic City ascends to a more scenic plane with the Changi coast as its backdrop; a ‘seaside kampung edition’ that’s essentially a day-to-night festival for all ages. And if you aren’t already a Cosmic City citizen, perhaps this is where you embark on your first exploration.

Beefing up its locale and lineup, this sixth edition of Cosmic City has planned a 12-hour journey comprising two stages and about 30 artists, all orbiting around the synchronous realms of music, mindfulness and art. Starting bright and early at 10am on a Saturday, Cosmic City opens its doors with talks, workshops and activities – think ice plunges, cacao booths, morning yoga, conscious food and visual art showcases. And throughout the day, a brimming roster of DJs and live musicians soundtrack the event with an assortment of ethnic house, Afro, progressive house, indie dance, psychedelic fusion, minimal and deep tech. They include world music collective Mantravine, Sivilian Affairs co-chief Miss Lil, vocalists Dita Jacob and Kahmy, ambient crusader The Weatherman, psych-driven DJs Huntersson and James Selva, and MagikMonk honcho RPDM, along with over a dozen other performers.
