Let’s face it – nostalgia is always a welcome guest when it comes to the oft-shifting tides of electronic music. Beats might get more belligerent and rhythms get warped, but there is comfort knowing that there’s still a space for old-school flavours to not just endure, but thrive. Just take the trusty antics of the 4xF collective for instance; amidst their psytrance escapades and techno-themed Drumpowder nights, they also sport their Sound Renegades sub-brand that’s an ode to the cherished but hardly forgotten genres of ’90s rave, acid house and raw trance. If those sounds still make you feel warm and tingly inside, pay attention because Sound Renegades is back with another blast from the past.

Come 21 June, 4xF presents a special edition of Sound Renegades with a fitting advocate of the ’90s rave resurgence, roping in UK’s Sabrina as the gig’s headliner. With a bright future ahead of her, the young selector already boasts shimmering credentials like residencies with RINSE FM and SWU.FM. Sabrina landed her first international booking via Goldie’s Metalheadz, but she refuses to be pigeonholed as a drum & bass DJ, instead brandishing a whole frenzied catalogue of rave, acid, techno and other sentimental goodies. Her sets are like captivating time capsules, with every opening of the cache a frolicsome and spirited experience.

Sabrina will be supported by an equally spry lineup, including rising deckster LTLX and Medusa Trance resident BØ from Germany, alongside 4xF residents Cosmo Carbon and Røcky Chann. And not forgetting Life In Arpeggio’s very own The Beat Usagi on the warm-up. Yes, we did a shameless plug.
