Sing60 Fest: You Have To Catch These 14 Rare Back-To-Back Electronic Sets We’ve Put Together

We’ve packed quite the lineup for Sing60, including [by column] HBN B2B Ollie Des, Jean Reiki B2B Mervin Wong, DuriO B2B nydthakid, deførmed B2B sl_owtalk (Credit: Courtesy of artists)

With bated breath and tingling anticipation, we’re inching closer to the grand launch of the Sing60 Music Festival, which will be celebrating the depth and enormity of Singapore’s music scene at Fort Canning Park. We announced the two-day spectacle happening on 6 and 7 December a few months ago, but we figured we’d keep the hype up by recapping Life In Arpeggio’s role in this tremendous, multi-organisational undertaking.

Together with independent producer Esther Goh, we have co-programmed Bunker B2B at Battlebox, a (literally) underground stage dedicated to showcasing our local electronic community with over 30 performers lined up. The Bunker B2B concept refers to the format we’ve set up for the two rooms in the space – 14 back-to-back sets of homegrown DJs and live electronic performers, with each set bridging generations between veteran icons and newer acts for a fusion of styles and deck wisdom. We’re particularly proud of this mega lineup, and here’s what you can expect.

Other pairs on our lineup include Debbie Chia B2B The Weatherman, Ferng B2B GTHB, Aresha B2B Krstn, and Aldrin B2B Loyboy (Credit: Courtesy of artists)

Day 1 acts

Daryl Knows B2B Mako: The Darker Than Wax and Offtrack native plots a choon-cruising course with scene maverick Mako, exhibiting their standout status in Singapore and abroad.

Ollie Des B2B HBN: It’s a heightened weekend affair when the hip-hop champion weaves his experience with the feistiness of Last Saturdays dynamo HBN.

INTRGNT B2B Sgstingray (live set): The Syndicate beatmaker calls on fledgling producer Sgstingray for a live improvised set of amorphous electronic experimentation.

Durio B2B Nydthakid: Musical curators of safe spaces with Mystery Of Missing Out and Bussy Temple respectively, DuriO and Nydthakid go unfiltered and united.

Ferng B2B GTHB: Eras of techno clash and coalesce when the post-modern gambit of GTHB encounters the timelessness of the soul-feeding Zouk legend.

Debbia Chia B2B The Weatherman w/ guest performance by Moira Loh (ambient set): A forecast of meditative downtempo climates between The Weatherman and the Midnight Shift chief, with transcendent vocal interludes by opera artist Moira Loh.

Jean Reiki B2B Mervin Wong w/ guest performance by Mary Sue (ambient set): The Pure Blue producer sculpts ambient-inclined sanctuaries with veteran soundscaper and scene fixture Jean Reiki, with a cameo by too-smooth rapper Mary Sue.

Day 2 Acts

Aldrin B2B Loyboy: The ‘ONE’ industry legend goes toe-to-toe with future legend Loyboy, pairing their spunky chunky grooves with deft and charisma.

EJ Missy B2B Taz Angullia: Both techno queens in their own right, the unparalleled EJ Missy unleashes dark dancefloor energy with the alluring .KRATE resident.

sl_owtalk B2B deførmed (live set): The aggression of sl_owtalk meets the madness of deførmed – unhinged, unpredictable, unanimously entertaining as a live set.

Darren Dubwise B2B DJ New Masculine: Slip into the frenzied future of club music as defined by Syndicate-affiliated culture-pusher Darren Dubwise and the Hyperfocus co-founder.

Aresha B2B Krstn: Dubstep, jungle and bass sounds reign in this dual assault from Low End Hz honcho Krstn and Singapore’s own queen of D&B.

Itch B2B Sadat (vinyl set): Relax and roam across a vinyl-only atlas of sounds, featuring Asian boogie connoisseur Itch and groove globetrotter Sadat.

KiDG B2B Bongomann (vinyl set): It’s all wax and trax with this vinyl-only combo; crate-deep rarities from Eatmepoptart’s KiDG and Ice Cream Sundays’ super-enjoyer Bongomann.

Bunker B2B at Battlebox isn’t the only stage at the Sing60 Music Festival. You can also catch performances from live solo acts and bands right outside at Fort Canning Green, which you can read more about here. But if electronic music gets your veins pumping, come find us at the bunker.

And in case you need another reason to support the scene (and why shouldn’t you?), Sing60 has a pay-it-forward model whereby for every ticket purchased, a ticket will be gifted to a child or youth from an underserved community. Did we also mention this event is eligible with the SG Culture Pass?
