They promised mayhem in hell and pulled it off. Trails of techno bellowed through the revered halls of Haw Par Villa. A mighty cornucopia of lasers and projections transformed towering walls into canvases of art. Chinese courtyards turned into assembly grounds for creatures of the night. Outer Bounce had turned a domain notorious for its fabled mythology into a playground for the party demons, stirring their appetite for their next big spectacle. How do you one-up a party in Singapore’s own hell on earth? Six months later, they show us exactly how with their sophomore edition.

On 25 February, Outer Bounce will migrate its antics to the Northwestern suburb of Kranji, a relatively rural neighbourhood situated near farms and marshlands. But if you’re worried about stomping in a swamp, fret not. The second iteration of Outer Bounce occurs within the comforts of civilisation at Carros Centre, an automotive hub renowned for car dealerships; in other words, the last place you’d expect a pop-up techno shindig. Still, the thrill of heading to the outlying neighbourhood of Kranji for an electronic music event is completely unheard of, so embrace the experience of making your way there.

The inaugural Outer Bounce featured a top-class regional and local lineup of Sunju Hargun, Yadin Moha and Yoshi Nori. And yet in that regard, Outer Bounce 002 raises the bar, this time with its first international booking beyond Asian shores. Headlining this event is the accomplished Roza Terenzi, who returns to Singapore with her bullet-speed numbers and beat-breaking oddities that’ve flourished on labels, Step Ball Chain and Planet Euphorique. Joining her will be Sarayu, a regional house and techno treasure who’s helped put Thailand on the electronic music map as co-founder of More Rice Records. And representing Singapore is our very own Bongomann, the Ice Cream Sundays/Offtrack/The Analog Vault resident who’s always adored for his eclectic selections that know no boundaries.

Always wanted to let loose in Kranji? Outer Bounce now lets you strike that off your bucket list.
