Introducing a swanky nightspot that shoots straight to the top, 61 levels above ground as a matter of fact. This is the towering ascent of HighHouse, a new day-to-night nightlife and culinary destination that stands tall with its calibre and grandeur. Occupying the former space of the now-defunct 1-Altitude, HighHouse now resides on the nest of One Raffles Place, boasting panoramic 360-degree views of the Singaporean skyline. With an area of 10,000 square feet, HighHouse is both the biggest and tallest (at 282 metres) nightlife concept to open since the pandemic. It’s a stature you just can’t ignore.

The concept is led by General Manager Wayne Lee, who’s also part of the Singapore Nightlife Business Association

Launched by OUE Restaurants, HighHouse is opening with an A-team backing its operations. Led by General Manager Wayne Lee – who was influential in shaping Zouk Group for a decade – the enormous venue is beautified with the interior design magic of MSDO (Manhattan, 28 Hong Kong Street), and the art curation of The Artling that spans paintings, sculptures and digital art. The lofty habitat also consists of two bars with a double-storey feature, a Private Dining Room and a Hideout that prides itself as being “Singapore’s first sky karaoke nook”. Its food menu is inspired by flavours of the Pacific Coast with Executive Chef Sam Chin at the helm, with beverages selected by bar specialist Jay Gray.

But what about the tunage, you ask? The musical direction of HighHouse is in the trusty hands of Benedict Teo (Zushan, O$P$, Metamo Industries) who’s been appointed as the venue’s Music Manager. To give you a taste of what’s on the music menu, HighHouse is throwing an invite-only preview party with Korea’s Didi Han on the decks, supported by the homegrown ensemble of HBN, James Selva, Aurora, Mannfred, Sadat and Kylie Nicole. The soundscapes have been designed to include house, techno, disco and other sub-genres of electronic music.

HighHouse transforms over the course of the day

“The music aims to create appropriate atmospheres through each period of the day to align not just with the mood of the hour, but with the ambience of the physical space and the offerings of HighHouse,” shares Benedict. “The progressive flow of music throughout the day is natural. It utilises sporadic energy boosts to maintain an upward journey as our guests eagerly anticipate the peak later in the night.”

Come the end of 2023, the venue will also witness the opening of NOVA on the 63rd level, which will become the tallest rooftop bar in Singapore. Touted as a “festival in the sky” experience, it will be inspired by SoCal cuisine and feature a range of music genres including house, funk, soul and Afro. From what this place has got in its sights, the future of HighHouse is looking up.
