In Bad Company Throws A Katong ‘Bloc Party’ With Vinyl DJs, Gastropub Grub & A Homegrown Marketplace

Is Katong Singapore’s coolest neighbourhood? It’s a debate that might trigger some fisiticuffs, but with fiery contenders like native gastrobar, In Bad Company, there’s really a strong case for Katong’s posited reign. The Eastie habitat is adored for its communal vibe and creative aura, and for one day only, In Bad Co. channels the neighbourhood’s character within its space for a hip pop-up affair – a Katong ‘bloc party’ featuring friends, foods and frolics.

Scheduled for a Sunday fiesta on 14 December from 1pm till late, In Bad Company’s ‘bloc party’ transforms its space into a vibrant hangout where you’re invited to simply lepak – camper chairs are recommended. It’s vinyl all day with record musketeers Itch, Hiddy and Shane2Sweet, known for their crate-deep catalogues armed with city pop, Asian boogie, hip-hop and other boogilicious cuts. Retail therapy’s to be had as In Bad Co. presents a curated marketplace, including goods from Sojao, Chio Books, The Pure Stitch, Plook Plook Studio and more. Fancy some souvenirs? And because they’re known for feeding their customers so well, they’re not letting you down with their ‘bloc party’ F&B offerings. They’ve prepped a feast of yakitori and meat skewers, and event specials like a Sambal Pork Banger & Mash and Milk-Fed Spiced Baby Lamb Rack. There’s even a pop-up collab menu between In Bad Co. and Jaco’s Tacos with more intriguing dishes to stuff your face with.
