The asphalt is warming up and the engines are getting tuned. If you listen closely, you can almost hear the F1 season zooming closer. Joining the momentum of the Singapore Grand Prix buzz is the aptly-named GrooveDriver Festival, a separate event organised by 8-Beat Collective with the support of Singapore Tourism Board. The sophomore edition of GrooveDriver Festival steps on the gas with entertainment all lined up at the Marina Central District. Music enthusiasts will wanna keep their crosshairs locked on 27 September, which hosts an International and K-Pop stage (4pm-10.30pm) at Suntec City and an Electronic Night (6.30pm-2am) at South Beach Tower, Level 11. Which route will you take?

The former favours more commercial and accessible sounds with a roster of international headliners, regional stars and local favourites. British viral sensation Henry Moodie makes his Singapore debut, and he’ll by joined by the Korean super squad of indie-pop singer-producer SHAUN, r&b act GEMINI and K-pop star YUJU. Reppin’ the +65 on the Plaza Stage are singer-songwriters Regina Song and WHYLUCAS who are undeniable homegrown darlings.

But if electronic music gets your gears going instead, head to the Sky Garden Stage at South Beach Tower for GrooveDriver Festival’s all-female DJ lineup full of local love and several international appearances. The lineup’s cosmopolitan cast includes Licaxxx (Japan), Molly Lin (Taiwan), Sooyeon (Korea), Sarah Farina (Germany) and Norsicaa (UK). And not forgetting some of our scene’s finest: we have Midnight Shift’s Debbie Chia, Behind The Green Door’s Kylie Nicole, Sivilian Affairs’ Miss Lil and North East Social Club’s Tashasan. What can we say? That’s a winning lineup right there.
