The Projector Launches New Party Venues At Cineleisure With No Spoilers Bar & Ruby Lounge

You wanted another sequel to The Projector’s afterhours activities? You got it. The purview of The Projector has long extended beyond that of a mere independent cinema since its launch in 2014. While its flagship venue still remains in its homeground of Golden Mile Tower, the company kicked its activities up a notch by launching Projector X in May 2021. The result was a series of temporary residencies that first popped up at Riverside Point and subsequently at The Cathay, attracting the attention of the party scene by accommodating a regular melange of events from all sorts of promoters.

While the Projector X moniker is now taking a backseat, it’s full steam ahead for The Projector’s next endeavour at Cineleisure in Orchard. For the cinema, this marks a gigantic development as it cements the partnership between The Projector and Golden Village, with both brands housing movie schedules for both independent and blockbuster films respectively with six halls in total. And with the move, it’s a boon not just for cinemaphiles, but also for partygoers who can look forward to a new location to go wild.

Unveiled just a few months ago are two new rooms that are ready to take on such shenanigans. You have No Spoilers Bar on Level 5 that fits a standing capacity of 250 pax, and Ruby Lounge on Level 6 that fits a more intimate 150. As of now, you’ll find DJ nights hosted on every Friday and Saturday at both areas from 10.30pm till late.

Like The Projector’s preceding party venues, the programme that’s rolled out so far has been equally diverse. In the past few months you’ve had the genre-roaming selections of Kampong Boogie, the Ibiza-meets-Berlin-meets-Singapore techno of mukke, the indie anthems of Eatmepoptart, the worldly thumpers of 100% and beyond. It’s also been a safe space for queer party promoters to shine, with inclusive events from the likes of Intervention, Agni and Boombayah.

The Projector’s always had a limitless philosophy when it comes to exposing audiences to new entertainment through film. In the same vein, the music policy here is shaping up to be boundless and positively unexpected. And that right there is a spoiler.
