Feel the impulsive itch to shred a guitar during lunch hour? Or need a studio to jam with your mates without the manual rigour of checking in with receptionists and staff? An advocate of the local music community for a decade now, The Music Parlour is smoothening out the oft-tedious process of booking a jamming space with its latest relaunch. ’Cos who enjoys admin when you just wanna rock out, right?
Designed for musicians on the move, The Music Parlour now positions itself as “Singapore’s first fully automated jamming studio and venue”. It’s recently rolled out a self-service online booking system where customers can book, unlock and start jamming instantly, not unlike the convenience of booking a co-working space. “It’s more than a studio – it’s a playground for creativity,” adds jaye, veteran singer-songwriter and founder of The Music Parlour. “The idea was to take away barriers so artists can just walk in, plug in, and play,” jaye elaborates on the revitalised space with its automated system – from the room facilities to the guitar amps. Aside from rehearsals, the space is also open for intimate event bookings.

The relaunch of The Music Parlour marks a decade of jaye’s overarching PARLOUR brand, starting out in 2015 as a jamming studio in Singapore. The brand went on to launch PARLOUR Singapore, a bar and creative hub at Farrer Park, and expanded its international network with PARLOUR Seoul, PARLOUR Paris and PARLOUR Amsterdam.
