The boundaries of the METAMOVERSE are expanding, ready to traverse uncharted territories with its eccentrically kaleidoscopic vision. The unit of Metamo Industries has enhanced brand communications with abstract creative campaigns, festooned local architecture with commissioned projections, and even constructed a METAMOVERSE to house the ongoing Geylang Crunk saga first concocted by its O$P$ originators. Levelling up into yet another frontier, Metamo Industries now launches a new label to support electronic acts in our local backyard.

It sets off on this endeavour by plugging one of the scene’s most versatile personalities. SWTLKR, the sweet-talking alias of Vijay Singh, is set to release the Girl EP as part of his distinctive electronica repertoire. The charismatic producer and emcee – who’s also destroyed dancefloors with his mic skills at Kampong Boogie and Kings of Bass – channels his blend of deep grooves and vocal eloquence in this tailored assortment. Featured tracks include “Come On”, a frenetic rush of 2-step garage sculpted with chrome basslines and sampled stutters; and “I Want You”, a trodding cosmic voyage that veers into the oscillating domain of dubstep. SWTLKR’s Casanovian vocals are smoothly stitched onto these innovative compositions, exemplified in the urban-skewed title track where he waxes lyrical with endearing braggadocio.

Together with Metamo Industries, SWTLKR commemorates this milestone with an EP launch party that also kicks off the label’s new event series, Projections. Considering Metamo Industries’ fond penchant for its signature ‘psyberpunk’ aesthetic – think futuristic visual art on steroids – one can expect this show to be a multi-sensory offence. It’s designed to take spectators through “another cycle of living in a post-capitalist neurophonic life experience”, according to the wild Metamo masterminds.

Visual paroxysms aside, the inaugural edition of Projections will feature a stuffed line-up of musical performances. Joining the main event showcase of SWTLKR are Noyzfera2 (who contributed a drill remix to the EP), veteran mixmaster Suren, and Last Saturdays resident HBN. Metamo Industries’ own O$P$ are slated to make an appearance as well, further pushing the mythology of their otherworldly concepts.

Snap up your tickets for this musical odyssey. This spaceship is almost ready for departure with SWTLKR in the captain’s seat.
