We’re now at Lap 32 of Life In Arpeggio’s 15-Min Flash Mix, and we have a seasoned guest who’s back in the fray with a brand new alias. For years, the scene has known this drum & bass speedster as Nez, or more recently, Nez Senja, who’s also the bossman of Revision Music established in 2015. But now, in contrast with more ‘straight-ahead’, quicker d&b that he reserves under his Senja identity, Nez explores a brighter, more euphoric dimension of jungle and rave music that dances around the 160bpm territory. Coinciding with his 15-Min Flash Mix, Nez introduces the fresh moniker, Helios XL.

In this mix, Helios XL swings on the vines of raw, organic jungle, with selections from the likes of Coco Bryce and Tim Reaper. Helios XL explores luscious chords, mechanised accents and blooming basslines, with beats that are light on their feet and geared to eject you out of your seat. This mix is a coordinated rush that sprints straight to the finish line. Chequered flag at the ready.

Since resurfacing in June 2022 with the headlining Kush Jones in tow, Revision Music continues its march with a series of post-pandemic events at Iki, a place that has a solid history of Singaporean jungle and drum & bass entrenched within its foundation. Revision Music returns with Sub City Redux on 20 January, as well as UK’s Tim Reaper (Future Retro London) on 25 February where Nez will also make his performance debut as Helios XL. Till then, listen to the sounds of Helios XL right here on the 15-Min Flash Mix.
