You know the revival of nightlife is back in full swing when you can finally indulge in riding an indoor Ferris Wheel while partying. Yes, there’s only one spot in Singapore that entertains this extravagant notion, and it’s set to reopen its doors on 1 July. Of course we’re talking about Marquee Singapore, the dormant beast of a club that resides within Marina Bay Sands. After a hiatus of more than two years, Marquee is all ready to turn its wheels (and the Big Q within) for this comeback chapter of Singapore’s nightlife story.

Owned by TAO Group Hospitality which helms several entertainment venues across the globe, Marquee’s arrival in 2019 as a superclub stirred waters in the scene. Its lavish, gargantuan space meant the why-not? accommodation of its signature Ferris Wheel and three-storey slides. It also came equipped with a 20-metre, LED 8k resolution screen and a Funktion One, which were put to good use with international acts that included Skrillex, Alesso, Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox and Luciano. In the face of a dominantly commercial crowd, its programming was ambitious enough to rival the Jiak Kim days of Zouk that favoured both mainstream and underground performers.

As of now, Marquee hasn't revealed the lineup of its reopening stint so it’s unclear which direction it’ll steer its programming. But what is certain is that it plans to operate on Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of public holidays from 10pm all the way to 6am – you read that right. Marquee officially has the green light to keep the beat running till dawn. Naturally, it will also abide by prevailing safe management measures, so check its social channel for the latest updates.

“The return of MARQUEE represents not only a tour de force for the nightlife scene in Singapore, but also a significant step towards normalcy as it is the last of our venues to re-open since the nation’s Circuit Breaker was implemented over two years ago. As a leading entertainment destination in Asia, the re-opening of our iconic nightclub is part of our commitment to revitalise our nightlife offerings and enliven the party experience for our guests,” shares Paul Town, Chief Operating Officer of Marina Bay Sands. Town refers to other prominent entertainment venues in Marina Bay Sands, including Avenue and Lavo (CÉ LA VI, while open, is owned independently).
