ETVD DAY: Singapore Hip-Hop Takes Over The Heartlands With A 26-Act Lineup

Some genres bend, evolve, and sometimes become utterly unrecognisable. Yet across the years, the spirit of hip-hop has persevered. And where homegrown hip-hop is concerned, this upcoming event is proving it’s all alive and well. Enter ETVD DAY, a celebration of Singapore’s rappers and beatmakers set against the patriotic backdrop of National Day. ETVD (an abbreviation for Enter The Void Deck) DAY propels the timeless genre towards the masses with a free-entry policy at Our Tampines Hub. And y’know what they say – hip-hop is for everyone.

ETVD DAY pulls out all the stops with an enormous roster of 26 hip-hop performers, spanning industry veterans and underground upstarts. They include the likes of Fariz Jabba, AE$OP CA$H, Masia One, syazsmooth, RSVR SSS, Sappy Chill, Sambal Snake, Thambi Nata, GLV ent., Qismaraj and plenty more. Keeping rap culture alive, the event will also have open-mic sessions and cyphers, fostering freestylers and undiscovered talents.

Hip-hop’s all about making statements, and ETVD DAY has got one more up its sleeve with its polarising event slogan – Streetwear is DEAD! But don’t let the abrasive mic-drop fool you; the organisers are in fact trying to prove the idea wrong with 12 homegrown streetwear brands onsite, all peddling exclusive merch drops and must-cop goods.
