The MUGIC masterminds are back at it again with their zany party endeavours. The promoters pulled off a wild stunt with their run of raucous jamborees at a Thai KTV. And then they giga-sized the revelry by co-hosting The Last Mile, the massive Golden Mile Complex send-off festival that made the headlines earlier this year. Reimagining the party space from traditional clubgrounds to beloved local haunts is firmly becoming a signature of these MUGIC honchos. And for their next escapade, MUGIC is taking their magic into the heartlands.

MUGIC’s next party venue has quite a history

Specifically, MUGIC Soundsystem wants you to wade down memory lane in another historical venue that’s been an institution for decades. They’re enlivening the unconventional locale of Bukit Merah Swimming Complex, an urban treasure first established in 1982. Back in the day, it comprised three pools across an area of 21,000 square metres, and it also stood on the former grounds of one of Singapore’s oldest Buddhist temples that existed for over 120 years. Today, Bukit Timah Swimming Complex has been privatised as part of Sports Lifestyle Centre. But it is within this revered pool area – a habitat of many stories – where MUGIC’s inviting you to pull shapes. And yes, swimwear is recommended.

Titled MUGIC presents “INSIDE OUT”, this is the crew’s first daytime party and it’ll mark the kick-off of a series with several editions across the year. Headlining this inaugural fiesta is Yokosun, a Japanese selector who’s been blazing through the Saigon scene with her mastery of house, disco, acid and other jolly genres. Recently appointed as a resident DJ at The Observatory, Yokosun has also played at Hanoi venues, Savage and Mirage, as well as Vietnam’s notorious cave rave at (Re)Treat Festival. She’ll be supported by MUGIC resident rascals, Ulysses, Dang and The Weatherman for a royal flush of sunshine choons.

Oh, and as a reminder from MUGIC, respect the space and respect the Feng Shui.

MUGIC presents INSIDE OUT, 2 September 2023, 3pm-10.30pm, Sports Lifestyle Centre, 3500A Bukit Merah Central, Singapore 159837. Get your tickets here, and follow MUGIC on Instagram for more updates.
