I’ve always had a soft spot for Heineken, and it’s not just because I fancy my lager. A quick history nugget for those of you fresh-faced in the local scene: Did you know that Heineken used to throw the wildest nightlife events back in the day?

Revered for its Heineken Green Room events which launched in 2002, the beer bigwigs seasonally organised large-scale, immersive extravaganzas that married the passions for a good brew, urban venues and quality choons. From its 2011 warehouse gig featuring Caribou (the memories!) to its 2014 space-themed The Transporter spectacle (spaceship!) that saw 1,500 lucky ravers convene for Benoit & Sergio and Thomas Schumacher, and not forgetting its 2015 Heineken Cities Festival that transformed the stunning church-grounds of CHIJMES into a worldly jamboree with techno don, Cristian Varela, headlining the decks; darn right, Heineken knew how to cook up a wicked party.

Fast forward the clock back to today, and Heineken is back at it again (in collaboration with veteran party agency, Sunshine Nation) with another head-turner for the upcoming F1 Singapore season. A mega event on 22 August (7pm) at Infinite Studios, this F1 pre-party will be headlined by iconic future bass pioneer, Flume, slated for a DJ set along with the bass-conscious barrage of Fatim (ATTAGIRL!) and the 4/4 gushes of ATMA (Kolour In The Park).

Amidst all the synth swells and kick drums, you’ll also find fringe entertainment at the venue, including a photo opp with an F1 car and a pit crew activation area that will literally put you in the driver’s seat on the tracks. Fuel up afterwards with on-site nosh from CHICO LOCO, The Goodburger and kinki, and naturally, with lots of Heineken on tap.

So you’d think that with a name as big as Flume on the lineup, Heineken could easily capitalise on this booking and make big bucks off tickets, right? Incorrect.

Instead, Heineken sticks to its guns when it comes to innovation, and applies it, in this case, to acquiring your very ticket to this event. To get tickets to this exclusive pop-up, you have to partake in an island-wide augmented reality ticket hunt, where you can snag one of 1,000 double passes if you 1) have a Heineken with a friend, 2) use your phone camera to capture a toast with your Heineken, and 3) once detected by a specialised app, use your phone to find a F1 car avatar on a flat surface.

It sounds like some futuristic, technological voodoo to us too. So for everything you need to know about winning a ticket, follow all the steps highlighted in this link.

Otherwise, look for our ticket giveaway on our Life In Arpeggio Facebook page, where we will be giving away FIVE pairs of tickets.
