Originating from Yokohama and San Diego and now based in Singapore, AYA is a fast-climbing contender in the local techno scene with her brutal, Hulk-smashing selections. In a short span of time, she’s racked up high-profile gigs at events by Manifest, Ciel Social, Modal and Algorhythm, flexing her muscles and showcasing her armoury of techno bombs. Come 25 February, AYA will also take part in the comeback of The Alex Blake Charlie Sessions, a massive all-female festival at Pasir Panjang Power Station.

For the 15-Min Flash Mix, AYA triggers a rolling avalanche that plummets towards your core. Aggressive and salacious, she orchestrates the soundtrack of a dark, sweaty dungeon rave that will leave you in a daze. It exudes a ghetto nature with its blistering tempos and saucy vocal samples, while striking with the industrial firepower of a banging jackhammer. Yet you’ll find glimmers of light in this magnetic abyss, with organic elements like tribal percussions, bright horns and even Latin choruses (techno conga, anyone?).
