Now of course you’re familiar with Toppings as one of the jovial resident DJs of Ice Cream Sundays, the party crew that’s thrown all-day pop-up raves at venues like Haw Par Villa, National Gallery Singapore and Gillman Barracks. And together with Bongomann and Muto, you’ll usually find Toppings behind the decks delivering chipper cuts that bounce between house and disco. But on this rare offering, Toppings shows a broodier side of his repertoire that’s catered to the alley cats and reservoir dogs; an urban eventide jam that’s oozing with ageless style.

Toppings’ 15-Min Flash Mix simulates the sensation of entering a cloak-and-dagger jazz club from the past. You mosey in with your fedora and trenchcoat, and slip into a smooth soundtrack that’s romantic, debonair, scintillating yet shadowy. Toppings drops a new tempo of feather-footed muzak; an intimate conversation of cosy BGM that tickles the senses. Filled with double bass murmurs, jittery drums and trumpet improv solos, this is a delicate offering that’s an ode to an old world that’s still as charming as ever.
